QuickTricks: Hyper-V Guests booting to PXE

QuickTricks: Hyper-V Guests booting to PXE

To boot to PXE in Hyper-V from an existing Guest operating system:

    Shut down the virtual machine.

Add a legacy network adapter for the Virtual.

Change the boot order to have the legacy network adapter at the top of the boot order.

    Start the Guest operating system.

To boot to PXE in Hyper-V from a new Guest operating system:

Create  new virtual, choose to install a network connection and then choose the option to Install an operating system from a network-based installation server.

This will automatically add the legacy network adapter and change the boot order to the appropriate order for a PXE installation.

    Start the Guest operating system.
